Robert Brough, 85, the last of thirteen children passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Bob was born on January 13, 1935 in Bicknell the son of Jonathan and Gertrude (Maltan) Brough. He married Carolyn Sanders on April 10, 1955 and she survives.
Bob had been a coal miner for over thirty years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed going to horse races at Ellis Park and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. As a kid he and his brother Tom would jump the train from Vincennes and travel to St. Louis to watch a Cardinal baseball game without their parent’s even knowing. Bob also enjoyed fishing and traveling out West to the Grand Cannon and Hoover Dam, and also enjoyed traveling on Route 66 going to Las Vegas.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brough of Vincennes; his children, Debbie Heuby and her husband Dave of Vincennes, Mike Brough and his wife Mindy of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Christy Pelzer and her husband Freddie, Michelle Sanders and her husband Brian, Cody Heuby and his wife Paula, Michael Brough, Jr. and his wife Nikki, as well as his great grandchildren, Mahkai, Mykah, Myah, Alexus, Emma, Logan, and Paisley. Bob was preceded by his parents and twelve siblings.
A graveside service to celebrate Bob’s life will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 919 Willow St., Vincennes, IN.
