Leah’s days were greatly fulfilled through her dedicated roles as a meat wrapper at True Loves IGA and a cherished cook at North Knox West Elementary School. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her family to the children and staff she served daily, leaving an indelible mark of care and hospitality on all she encountered.
A devout member of St. Francis Xavier Old Cathedral Catholic Church in Vincennes, Leah’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence, exemplifying unwavering love and friendliness towards everyone she met. Her genuine kindness and the joy she found in tending to her garden were among the numerous gifts she blessed onto the world.
Leah’s legacy of love is carried on through her daughters Deborah Ashley (William) of Oaktown, Kimetha Worland (Lloyd) of Vincennes, and Calissa Frederick (Rodney) of Bruceville. The matriarch of a large and adoring family, Leah reveled in the joys of seeing it grow, which included 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a cherished great-great-grandchild. Her sister Carolyn Wydock of Indio, CA, also survives her.
Preceding Leah in death were her beloved husband James Homer Williams, her parents Levi Elmo “Eddie” and Bertha M. (Bryant) Damer, sister Joetta Hanes, and brother Dennis Damer.
