The United Way of Knox County held its campaign kickoff yesterday during the monthly Knox County Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The event was held at the Green Activities Center on the Vincennes University campus.
The July kickoff is a month earlier than the county United Way’s previous August commencement. It was sponsored by long-time kickoff sponsor Old National Bank.
Among the announcements was plans for the United Way to campaign at each County school corporation’s opening day next month. Traditionally, the corporations have been early donors to the overall fund-raising efforts.
Also, the United Way of Knox County has set its annual Days of Caring for September 19th and 20th. Volunteers will be working at various locations across Knox County, as well as collecting food for County pantries at five locations in Vincennes, Bicknell, and Monroe City.
