70 years and counting. That is the legacy of the Civitan Radio Auction, that started last night on 92.1, WZDM. That annual fund-raiser for the Vincennes Civitan Club will be heard each evening through Thursday night on both WZDM and a couple of nights on 97,7 and 97.3, WAOV.
Dennis Kordes is a long-time voice of the auction. He says the Civitan Club has a very specific purpose. For instance, the local funding goes toward community grants, as well as to help the work of the Civitan Children’s Center in Vincennes. Kordes lets us know various businesses donate their goods and services for the Auction—including one– Charlie’s Caramel Corn– who has been with the Auction from day one.
Various items will be up for auction each night. The items can include various food gift certificates, professional services, and actual merchandise items. Winning bidders can submit their winning bid amounts, and items, following the Auction’s completion.
