Indiana Conservation officers have arrested one person in the reported death of a child who drowned in the Wabash River yesterday.
27 year-old Deonna Hollingsworth is charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in the death of that dependent, under 14 years old. She was booked into the Knox County Jail on 75-thousand dollars bond. No other official word on the incident has been released, except for the information that a child was pulled from the Wabash River early yesterday evening, after an hours-long search. Reports say Hollingsworth was the stepmom of the victim in the case.
The case is being handled by the Indiana Conservation Office, since it happened on a state-maintained waterway.
