Despite a three-hit night as a team, the Vincennes Lincoln Alices defeated the Washington Hatchets 5-0 at Hill Field. By contrst, the Hatchets had seven hits and stranded 13 runners in the loss.
Luke Hall led with a triple, while Cooper Collins and Will Hambrick had singles. William Burgess was the winning pitcher, while Trey James took the loss for Washington.
L-H-S moves to 8-1 win the win, while Washington drops to 3-6. The Alices are back in action tonight as they face Mater Dei at six p-m. You can hear that game on 92.1 WZDM, and live streamed at wzdm.com.
The Rivet track teams defeated Wood Memorial in dual meets last night.
The Riuvet boys won 54-35. Winners include Beckitt McGuyer in two events; Giovanni Ralston in two events; and Brody Patton in two events. Single event winners were Miles Gardiner, Bryn Duckworth; and the 4 by 400 relay team.
On the girls side, Rivet defeated Wood 65-49. The girls’ winners were Lissa Willis in three evens; Payton Allen and Rachel Jacqumain in two events; and single event wins for Kevi Black, Emma Gafner, and the 4 by 100 relay team. Jacqumain also had the highlight of the meet, with a school best mark in the 200 meter run.
The South Knox tennis team blanked Vincennes Lincoln 5-0. Winning for the Spartans in Singles play were Alli Hayden, Grace Arnold and Halle Carmean. Also the doubles team of Caroline Beard and Grace Carie and the duo of Elaina Watjen and Emily Dreiman.
In middle school tennis, Rivet beat WC
5-0. Singles winners were Addi Beaman,
Anna Halter and Mya Brown. Also winning
