The Vincennes Lincoln Alices withstood a late rally, and defeated the North Plsey Vikings 8-5 last night at Hill Field. The Alices got another good offensive game from Luke Hall, as he hit two doubles as part of an eight overall team performance. Colton Wonning took the win on the mound, with Brady Anderson gaining the one-inning save.
The Alices are back in action this evening at six p-m, as they face the Reitz Panthers in an SIAC matchup. Anderson is expected to get the start today for Daniel Ashby’s Alices. You can hear the game on 92.1 WZDM, and watch live stream at wzdm.com.
The Loogootee Lions defeated Rivet and North Knox in a three-team meet last night. The host Lions scored 164, compared to Rivet’s 170 and North Knox’s 184. Rivet’s Fisher Lemon was overall medalist with a two over par 37.
The Vincennes Lincoln varsity won a three team meet with Washington and Wood memorial The Alices were three shots better than the Hatchets, 157 to 160; Wood carded a 216. Overall low scorer was Lincoln’s Luke Lindsey, with a 37.
The Rivet boys and girls’ track teams were part of the Red Hill Invitational last night in Bridgeport. The Rivet girls were runners-up in the meet, while the Patriot boys were sixth. Fairfield won both meets.
Three Rivet girls came out winners in six events last night—Rachel Jacqumain in three events, Lissa Willis in two events, and Payton Allen in one. The best boys’ finish was a second out of Beckitt McGuyer.
The Vincennes Lincoln vs. South Knox varsity softball game has now been reset for Monday, April 28th. That will be at Four Lakes Park starting at five p-m.
The Clark Middle School tennis team lost 4-1 to Washington. The lone win was at number 2 doubles, with Alexa Benson and Eloise Vieck winning. Also, Laney Cooper and Scarlet Gentry were winners in an exhitibtion matchup.
The Clark Middle School track team were were third in a quad team meet at Washington. South Knox won the meet, with Washington second, followed by the Alices and North Daviess. Both Braylon Sanders and Roman Lowe took two events each for CMS.In the girls meet, South Knox won it with 99, with LHS scoring 84, Washigton 30, and North DAviess 6. CMS girls winners included Bristol Rath, Malaya Cowley, in two events, Myah Rinderleand Hadley Leffler. Also, the 16-hundred meter relay teams were winners.
The North Knox Kimor High girls track team won a four-way met last night at Parkview Junior High in Lawrenceville. Kendal M cGuire was a winner in 3 events, while Zoey Chambers took top spot in two events. Single event winners were Claire Dinkins, Avaree Mason, Zoey Chambers, and Jovi Murphy. Also, the North Knox 400 and 1600 meter relay teams were also winners. Of nite, the North Knkox 400 meter relay team set a new school record time of 54.59 seconds.
