The Vincennes Community School Board has named new head coaches for both boys and girls’ soccer.
Caleb Merrifield will move in to take over the L-H-S girls’ program, while Noble Boger will become the new boys’ head coach. Both men will begin their new positions with preseason practice late this summer, and the first games starting in mid-August.
The Rivet Patriots won their fourth straight, with a 10-0 five inning win at Evansville Bosse. The Patriots only had three hits in the game, but took advantage of eight Bosse errors to gain the win. Brody Shots got the win on the mound, giving up only one hit in his five innings pitched. He also struck out 11 in the complete game performance.
The Patrios are back in action today, as they face the Bloomfield Cardinals. First pitch of that game is five-30; you can watch the game live-streamed at waovam.com.
The Clark Middle School track teams lost to Jasper in 7th and 8th grade meets yesterday.
In the 7th grade meet, Clark was defeated 80-24. Landon Carter and Kai Muranaka both had wins in that meet. In the 8th grade matchup, Jasper won 71-34. Braylen Sanders had two wins for the Alices 8th graders, with single wins for Roman Lowe and Ray Sommerville.
