Marjorie Ann “Utt” Pinnick, aged 95, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Oaktown, IN on April 11, 2025. Born on March 5, 1930, in Oaktown to John and Josephine “Morning” Utt, Marjorie lived a life marked by devotion to her family and her community.
Marjorie was a graduate of the local high school and took great pride in her role as a homemaker. On February 1, 1949, she married the love of her life, Ernest W. Pinnick, and together they raised a family filled with love, kindness, and the value of togetherness. Marjorie’s home was always full of warmth, and her hands were never idle, often crocheting beautiful pieces for her friends and family.
In addition to her myriad homemaker duties, Marjorie attended Oaktown Christian Church and found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing bingo and card games with her friends. Her loving, friendly nature and the wise counsel she provided will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Marjorie’s legacy is carried on by her children, Dickie B. (Lisa Chilton) Pinnick of Oaktown, IN, and Ernest Richard (Debbie) Pinnick of Edinburg, IN; her cherished grandchildren, Donita Vincent and Dawn Pinnick, both of Edinburgh, IN; her three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Irene Ravellette of Oaktown, IN. Marjorie’s passing was preceded by her beloved husband, Ernest W. Pinnick, her dear infant son, her loving parents, her four sisters: Roxie Goff, Von Bales, Lois Ravellette, Christine Wesner, and her three brothers: Bert Utt, Kenneth Utt, and Johnny Utt.
Marjorie’s life will be celebrated and remembered as one that was abundantly filled with love and friendship. Her wisdom and warmth touched many lives, and her memory will continue to inspire those she has left behind. Marjorie’s departure leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever gleam in the hearts of her family and friends.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel, with service following at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Richard Stewart.
