
Governor Mike Braun is directing flags to be flown at half-staff in Clay County in honor of Volunteer Firefighter, EMT, and Clay County Deputy Coroner Roy Smith of North Centerpoint.
The 60-year-old Smith died in the line of duty on Saturday, April 5th.
He was responding to a report of a stranded motorist in high water when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset in Clay County on Sunday.
Governor Braun is asking businesses and residents located in Clay County to lower their flags as well.
