Knox County officials continue working on designs for a new Emergency Operations Center on Hart Street Road. The building will be centered on the old Poor Farm facility just east of Vincennes.
Knox County Council president Mike Morris says although the process is slow, the Center’s plans are moving forward. Right now, the Knox County Commissioners are reviewing the plans and coming up with a final design. Council members will starting adding their thoughts when the plan is ready for financing. However, Morris—himself a former Knox County Sheriff—knows it’s time for the Center to be built..
The Emergency Center would be the first of a sthree-step set of planned improvements. The other two include a new Justice Center, and 150-thousand dollars of improvements at the Knox County Courthouse.
