Andrew Jacob Hostetler, a cherished son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend, passed away in Pensacola, Florida, on March 23, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on April 2, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Bumper and Lori “Roberts” Hostetler, Andrew grew into a man of kindness, creativity, and friendliness, whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.
With a keen intelligence and a passion for design, Andrew earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University and a Master’s Degree from University of Illinois and channeled his talents into a successful career as an architect with Grace Hebert Curtis Architects (GHC). His dedication to his craft earned him membership in esteemed organizations, including the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. His fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, benefitted from his commitment and warm camaraderie, exemplifying the bonds he forged throughout his personal and professional life.
Andrew’s robust spirit led him to pursue a wide array of interests. He shared countless good times with his friends, family, peers, and colleagues, bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. An enthusiast for architecture, he found beauty in structure and design, which was reflected in both his work and personal aesthetic. A proud and loving dog dad, he cherished moments with his beloved dogs, Bulleit and Eero, and found great delight in exotic fish, reptiles, and plants.
His patriotism was unwavering, and he was an ardent dreamer, meticulously planning for the future with optimism and hope. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Andrew’s memory will be lovingly preserved by his parents, his siblings Nick Hostetler (Laura) of Vincennes, IN, Chris Hostetler (Andrea) of Vincennes, IN, Katie Jamriska (Jim) of Murray, KY, and Sara Smith (Zac) of Mayfield, KY. His role as an uncle was one with which he beamed, leaving behind fond memories for his nieces and nephews MacKenzie Scott, Coleton, Quinten, Jillian, and Joseph Hostetler, Izzy and Jackson Jamriska, Georgia and Gage Smith, great-niece, Isla Scott, as well as his second family in Pensacola.
Andrew was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Hostetler, and his grandparents, Richard and Joyce Hostetler, and Thomas and Arlene Roberts. His life’s story is one of genuine affection, inspiring creativity, and heartfelt connections that will continue to resonate in the lives of all who were fortunate to know him. Andrew Jacob Hostetler will be dearly missed but his spirit will live on through the immeasurable impact he made on the world and people around him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST with service held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am EST officiated by Fr. Tony Ernst. He will be laid to rest at the Hostetler Family Cemetery on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm CST. Celebration of Life to follow at Birmingham Point Event Center.
