Retired PACE Chief Executive Officer Bertha Proctor has been named to the National Community Action Hall of Fame. That hono9re happened in Washington, DC last week.
Proctor was honored for her 27 years of leading the Vincennes-based community action agency. Her honor happened as part of a ceremony in Washington, DC.
Proctor was honored for various innovations that have been industry leaders over the year. Key in that movement was creating a social enterprise in 2008 that became a model for others to fillow. Proctor was also honored for use in technology efficiency and compliance. Finally, Proctor’s leadership was praised for her work during Covid with restaurants providing for families in need of hot meals.
During her enshrinement, national officials honored her involvement in making lasting changes for the service area in Knox, Daviess, Greene, and Sullivan counties.
