Jana Wagner (Farley), 65, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, in Vincennes, Indiana following years of chronic illnesses. She was surrounded by family and the best of friends.
Born on September 30, 1959, Jan was a 1977 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. She later pursued a career in dental hygiene, earning a degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 1995. Jan spent several years working as a dental hygienist in Bicknell, where she found great joy in her profession and the connections she made with patients and colleagues.
Jan had a deep love for gardening and was always ready with the perfect movie recommendation. Her passion for home decorating was evident to all who visited, and she especially enjoyed watching HGTV for inspiration. Holiday decorating was another of Jan’s great joys—at the time of her passing, her home was adorned with festive St. Patrick’s Day decorations, a testament to her enthusiasm for celebrating life’s current moments.
Jan is survived by her sisters Lindy Farley and Jodi Farley Cannon (Brian), as well as brother Mike Farley (Jill). She leaves behind beloved nieces Savannah Farley (Patrick) and Sarah Farley Brown (Nic), great niece, Everleigh and great nephew, Jaxton. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Jane Farley, and David Farley; dear friends Kaye Driskill and Annette Mogabgab.
Throughout life, Jan cultivated many cherished friendships that stood the test of time. Cathy Rooney remained a steadfast childhood friend into adulthood, while Christina Fulk was affectionately known as Jan’s superhero. Linda Paul Kennedy and Laura Moore Hildebrandt, long-time friends, also held special places in Jan’s heart. Other impactful friends were a group she affectionally called “The Queens”—Pam Corrona, Toni Eagleson, Kathy Joice, Dee Shelton, Eva Snapp, Abby Vonderwall, Kaye Driscoll, and Annette Mogabgab—who shared countless adventures and provided unwavering support through life’s journey. Those who knew Jan undoubtedly heard stories of these treasured friendships and the joy they brought into each other’s lives.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team, Good Samaritan, who provided compassionate care during Jan’s final days; Chaplain Trevor and to the community at Fox Ridge Manor, where Jan took advantage of gaining many new friends.
May those who knew Jan find comfort in the love and laughter you shared throughout her life. May you have inspiration through Jan to live life every day with grace and love despite life’s lemons! A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date to honor Jan’s memory.
