One of the most successful boy’s basketball coaches in Indiana history is calling it a career.
Gene Miiller announced on Wednesday he will be retiring from coaching after 50 seasons.
Miiller was 779-391 in his career and will retire the fourth all-time winningest coach. Only J.R Holmes,
Jack Keefer and Jack Butcher have more victories. In 20 years at Washington, Miiler won 311
Games and three state titles. He began his career at Kankakee Valley in 1976, then spent the next
17 years at Vincennes Lincoln, before moving to Lafayette Jeff and then his final stop in Washington. Miiler led
Vincennes Lincoln to a state runner up finish in 1984.
Wood Memorial landed three players on this years All Blue Chip Conference boys Basketball team. Those players
Include Houston Schoonover, Parker Conder and Chad Sullivan. South Knox had Justin Siewers and Sam Singleton
On the squad while Cole Kerns of North Knox was also named to the team. Others include Seth Wagler and Landon
Miller of Barr-Reeve, AJ Foster and Will Lyon of Loogootee. And Drew Schroering and Adam Dooley of Northeast Dubois.
