Raymond Franklin Bice, aged 78, a lifelong resident of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in the same town where he was born on December 3, 1946. As a beloved figure in the community, he was known for his warm heart, his generous spirit, and his love for his family and friends.
The son of the late Esther Sears Bice and Jesse Gilbert Bice, Raymond led a life built on the values of hard work, dedication, and family loyalty. He leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment as evidenced by his enduring marriage to Brigitte Zier Bice, which began on December 22, 1967, in Ingleheim, Germany. Together, they raised a family whose growth he cherished above all.
Raymond was a devoted father to Caroline Schlich (Joerg) of Lorch, Germany; Katherine Mueller (Bruno) of Muenster-Saarlheim; Angela Marie Heiser of Bingen; Nancy Elizabeth Wideman of Daxweiler; and Rebecca Behrens of Vincennes, Indiana. His wisdom and guidance flourished through his eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
He is remembered by his siblings Lindsey Kathleen Beanblossom of Vincennes, Jesse Bice (Suetta) of Fritchton, and Sharon Turner of Vincennes. Raymond now joins his sister Roseanna Hartly, his grandson Swen Heiser, and his nephew Stephen Joseph Hamm in eternal rest.
Professionally, Raymond dedicated many years to maintaining the integrity and functionality of homes working with Vincennes Housing. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and skilled craftsman. Beyond work, he was an enthusiast who spent his leisure moments indulging in his passions for collecting tools, cars, and motorcycles. A marksman at heart, he also took great pleasure in shooting sports and gun collecting.
Raymond Franklin Bice’s life was a testament to devotion, joy, and passion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind memories that will be cherished and celebrated by his loving family and the community that was his home.
