Ronald V Wineinger, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in Vincennes, Indiana, at the age of 82. Born on August 19, 1942, in East Chicago, Indiana. Ron’s life was marked by dedication, creativity, and a love for adventure. He completed his education in the local high school, laying the foundation for a life of service and craftsmanship. After graduation, Ron embarked on a career that would see him become a valued member of the Bicknell Police Department. His dedication to the safety and well-being of his community was unwavering, and he served with distinction for many years.
Beyond his service in law enforcement, Ron was a skilled carpenter, a trade he honed with precision and passion. His hands were rarely still, always engaged in the creation of something meaningful or the repair of something essential. He also dedicated 30 years of his life to General Electric in Linton, where he was known for his reliability and expertise.
Ron’s personal life was as rich and fulfilling as his professional endeavors. He shared 22 wonderful years with his significant other, Sharon Leigh, creating a blended family that was a source of immense pride and joy. He fathered Ragene Ann McAllister of Burlington, IN, and Annette Faye McAllister of Elkhart, IN. His family circle expanded to include bonus children Tammy Robinson (Joe) of Bicknell, IN, Cheryl Bilskie of Vincennes, IN, Johnny McPheter (Angie) of Kinmundy, IL, Teresa Charlton (Opie) of Bicknell, IN and Tony Neighbors (Desiree) of Wheatland IN. Ron’s legacy continued to grow with the love of his 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, whom brought him immeasurable happiness.
Preceded in death by his mother, Jean “Rutkowski” Wineinger, his father, Kenneth Wineinger, and his grandparents, Ron’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives he touched.
Ron’s interests were as varied as they were engaging. He was an enthusiast of the great outdoors, often found riding his motorcycle, fishing in the quiet of dawn, hunting, or traversing trails on his four-wheeler. His passion for craftsmanship extended to his love of cars, and he could frequently be found tinkering in his garage, restoring vehicles to their former glory. Ron also had a creative side, expressing himself through music and art drawings and various handmade projects, each piece a testament to his attention to detail and artistic spirit. Ron also played guitar with the Misty Blues band.
Ronald V Wineinger lived a life full of purpose, love, and creativity. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he made on his family, friends, and community. Ron’s story is one of a life well-lived, and he will be remembered with fondness and admiration for generations to come.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell chapel with a service immediately following at 4:00pm also at the funeral home. Pastor Trevor Murry will be officiating. After the service, he will be cremated and a burial will be held at a later date.
