It has been one week since Washington Avenue re-opened from Kelso Creek to Emison Avenue. Last Friday afternoon, City officials cut the ribbon and removed the barricades to that part of the street.
The work brought with it improved drainage, new pavement, and some new amenities. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says one of those new features is a pedestrian crossing from the Heights area to Gregg Park. The road is re-opened to traffic, but the Mayor reminds everyone some work still remains on the project.
The project affected the street through the entire construction season earlier this year.
