Terry L. Harper, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Vincennes on April 18, 1946, the son of the late Edward and Audrey (Elkins) Harper, Terry was a devoted husband to his wife Mary Harper and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Throughout his years, Terry enjoyed playing euchre with friends at the Moose and The Knights of Columbus, and passionately followed sports, cheering for teams such as IU basketball, the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Yankees. He found entertainment in watching wrestling and old cowboy shows on TV, as well as listening to Lincoln High School football and basketball games on his headphones.
A hard worker, Terry dedicated his days to his job at various factories and also relished spending time outdoors. His faith was an essential part of his life, as he was a member of the First Church of God in Vincennes.
Terry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Bottoms) Harper; daughter, Tonya Jones (Marcus); grandson, Keaton Jones; brothers, Edward Harper and James Harper (Ellen); sister, Marilyn Harper (Dennis); brother in laws, Jack Bottoms, John Bottoms, and Joe Bottoms. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Audrey Harper; son, Troy Harper; brother, Bill Harper; sister, Donna Bushey; sister in law, Wilma Harper; brother in law, Wayne Bushey.
Visitation for Terry will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Will Huebner will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Terry L Harper will always be remembered for his love for his family, his dedication to his community, and his passion for the simple joys that life had to offer. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Terry.
