All four Knox County girls’ basketball teams will have controlled scrimmages this week. On Thursday, Vincennes Lincoln
Will scrimmage at Terre Haute North at 6pm while South Knox will be at home to face Evansville Reitz. That scrimmage begins at
6:30. On Saturday, North Knox will scrimmage at Shakamak beginning at eleven am while Vincennes Rivet will have a scrimmage
against Mount Vernon, starting at one at Holscher gym. The season tips off on election day, November 5th when Vincennes Lincoln
plays host to Sullivan.
Tickets are on sale at South Knox High School for the Hall of Fame classic at New Castle on Friday, December
27th. South Knox will be one of four girls teams participating as the Lady Spartans take on Hamilton Southeastern at
12:45. The Consolation game will be at 5:30 with the championship to follow. Cost is ten-dollars for both sessions if
bought in advance at the high school or ten dollars at the door per session.
Pairings are set for Saturdays Volleyball semi-states. At the 2-A Martinsville Southern semi-state, Barr-Reeve will take on
Winchester while Brownstown Central plays Indianapolis Scecina. At the Bedford North Lawrence 4-A semi-state, Floyd
Central takes on Center Grove and then Castle battles Yorktown. At the Jasper Class A semi-state, Springs Valley
Meets Trinity Lutheran while Indianapolis Lutheran faces Christian Academy. Finally at the 3-A semi-state at Columbus
East…Jennings County meets Roncalli and Silver Creet takes on Tri-West Hendricks.
The High School Football Sectionals move into round two on Friday night and the Lincoln Alices head to the Jungle to face Class
3-A number two Heritage Hills. The Alices are 4-6 while the Patriots are 9-1. The Other sectional 32 matchups has Number one
Evansville Memorial, 10-0 on the season, hosting number 11 Southridge. The Raiders are 8-2.
