Ruthie Jane “Walls” Adams, a beacon of kindness and joy to all who knew her, passed away on October 6, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on November 9, 1952, in Palestine, IN, Ruthie’s life was one marked by warm laughter, enduring friendships, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
A proud graduate of North Knox in 1972, Ruthie dedicated many years to her cherished role as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her compassion and warmth brightened the lives of countless individuals in her care. Her dedication to service was matched only by her loving nature as a friend and family member.
Survivors include her children, Kimberley Bennett (Chris), Tami McBride (Kip), and Jason Adams (Abby). Ruthie’s legacy also lives on through her adored grandchildren: Brittney Naylor (Jordan), Lacey Ramsey (Larry), Holly Wood (Jason McIntosh), Hayden Wood, Dakota Jones, and Tiffany Karweck, as well as her eight great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Pat Chace (Lloyd), her brother Tom Walls (Jeanette), and a vibrant tapestry of family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Clayton Adams; her cherished granddaughter, Shanna Jones; her parents, James Freeman and Virginia “Sparks” Freeman; her brother, Richard (Chilly) Walls; and her special nephew, Eddie Chase (Charlie Brown).
Ruthie’s love for life radiated in her passions, especially in her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her world. Those who knew Ruthie often spoke of her as kind-hearted, funny, and unfailingly friendly. Her laughter filled rooms, her jokes brought smiles, and her presence made every gathering warmer.
Ruthie Jane “Walls” Adams lived a life of genuine joy and meaningful connections. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless hearts she touched. Ruthie’s storied life may have reached its sunset, but her memory will shine on like the first light of dawn—beloved, cherished, and forever missed.
