She lived a life full of warmth, camaraderie, and adventure and embraced her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Mary Jo graduated from St. Rose Academy in 1956, where she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured at every class reunion. She had many job titles throughout her life, but most of her professional career was dedicated to helping others. In her younger years, she even took to the racetrack, drag racing alongside her brothers, an activity that highlighted her bold and adventurous nature. While she had many hobbies that she enjoyed throughout her life, her most cherished moments were spent visiting with her brothers and spending time with her great grandchildren.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Lori Davis, and her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Burke (Cody) of Monroe City, Indiana and Austin Deaton of Vincennes, Indiana and great grandchildren, Oliver, Henry and Ruby Burke. She also leaves behind her caring brothers, Maurice “Doc” Halter (Ruth) of DeBary, Florida and Robert “Bob” Halter (Ramona) of Sun City, Arizona. Mary Jo also had a wonderful relationship with her half-brother, Donald “Donnie” Halter (Polly) of Vincennes, IN.
