Kathy Ann McCrary-Organ was born May 23, 1956, in Vincennes, Indiana to Billie Ray and Margaret Joan (Kirk) McCrary.
Kathy attended Decker High School through the 5th grade and the South Knox High School when the consolidation took place. She graduated from South Knox High in 1974.
She worked for 3 years at various businesses before she began her banking career at Security Bank and Trust Company later to be known as Old National Bank. She worked in different departments beginning as a teller, then in the savings department, bookkeeping, Commercial and Ag lending department before becoming a customer service representative. She then went back to the teller line at the Old 20 North 3rd Street location. Kathy then transferred to the Hart Street Branch in January of 2021 and finished her 47 year banking career at Hart Street Branch on May 15, 2024.
Kathy was a member of the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church and served on various committees throughout her lifetime. She loved the annual Chili Supper and Auction and even spent $325 for a stuffed turtle for her granddaughter, Taylee.
She was the proud mother of Troy M. Organ, who was the sunshine of her life. Surviving Kathy is her son, Troy (Trisha) Organ of Vincennes; Granddaughters, Taylee Jo Organ and Tori Rae Organ, both of Vincennes; Brother, Gary (Kathy) Organ of Freelandville;Niece, Jennifer (Greg) Price of Freelandville; Great Nephews, Gavin Price and Landon Price of Freelandville; Great Niece, Jorja Jo Price of Freelandville; Aunts, JoAnne Vieck of Vincennes, Lenora McCrary of Sandborn; Uncles, David McCrary and Dan McCrary both of Vincennes; and many Kirk and McCrary cousins. She is also survived by her sister and brother from another mother, Ruth and Tom Yochum.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Ray and Margaret Jean (Kirk) McCrary;infant baby sister, Vickie Lynn McCrary; Maternal Grandparents, Dale and Margaret (McNeece) Kirk; Paternal Grandparents, Ray and Helen (Lane) McCrary.
Kathy enjoyed traveling to Pigeon Forge and Branson with her besties, Sue Jones and Suzan Menke. She also enjoyed going to eat with Sue, Karen Sampson and Jill Warren. She also loved to meet up with classmates Becky Dreiman, Rhonda Halter, Sue Vories, Vicki Peters, Trish Snow, and Kathy Hartigan to fellowship together and work on class reunions.
Most of all, Kathy was a devoted Mimi K to her precious granddaughters and she was so blessed with a great son and daughter in law.
Visitation will be held at Goodwin-Seivers Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor Brenda Wick. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Kathy.
