David Eugene Shreve, a beloved family man and treasured member of his community, passed away on the 16th of August, 2024, in Hillswale, Indiana at the age of 53. Born on January 28, 1971, in Evansville, Indiana, David brought a legacy of laughter, friendship, and love.
David’s resolute spirit and compassionate heart touched many lives. His presence was a source of joy and comfort to his family, including his beloved companion, Terri Stogsdill; his son, Jarit Pickett; his stepchildren, Josh Crowe and Brandon Crowe; and his cherished grandchildren, Brayden Crowe and Journey Crowe. David’s laughter will echo in the lives of his siblings Jeff Freeman, Sam Freeman, and Suzanne Bain, along with his treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members Rexy Andis (Heather) and their children, Kylie, Kaylin, and Kendall, Rex Andis (Seairra) and their children, Landon, Michealon, Eli, Miner, and Charlee; and his loyal dog, Diesel. He now rejoins his parents, Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Shreve and Rose Marshall “Baxter” Shreve, as well as his wife, Lisa Shreve, who preceded him in death.
David graduated from high school and ventured into a fulfilling career with Robinson Trucking. His pride in his work was surpassed only by his love for his family and his unwavering faith. As an active member of Church on the Way in Washington, IN, David was a beacon of light and guidance.
Beyond his work and church activities, David dedicated two years to mentoring at the Lighthouse Recovery Center. His youthful enthusiasm shone through in his days playing basketball and in every moment spent with Diesel. David was best known for his funny and friendly nature, encapsulating a truly loving soul that brought comfort and smiles to everyone around him.
David Eugene Shreve’s life was one of purpose and impact, exemplifying the enduring power of kindness. His memory will live on, cherished and celebrated, as the embodiment of a life well-lived.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, August 24th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home with service following immediately at 1:00pm officiated by Bishop Pete Aldrich.
