David Scott Rodgers, known to many as Scotty, passed away on August 10, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born on October 17, 1965, in Shelbyville, KY, and resided in Vincennes, IN.
David was the baby of his family, the youngest of six siblings. He had a mischievous and playful personality, always picking on his nieces, nephews, and pretty much anybody he came into contact with. He loved causing laughter and bringing joy to those around him.
David proudly served in the National Guard for six years, a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country. He was infamous for his pranks and his ability to light up any room he entered. His infectious personality made him the life of the party on many occasions. Anytime he would say or do anything, you would always hear him snicker “he he he”.
David’s love for his family was evident by the amount of people who surrounded him as he left this world and transitioned to the next. David never had children, but all of his nieces and nephews knew Uncle Scott would be there for them if they needed it.
He is survived by his fiancée, Dawn Eagleson. Additionally, he is mourned by his two sisters, Ruth Nash and Kathy Jones, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended, and chosen family members.
David reunites with his mother Helen Baker, father George Rodgers, brother Wayne Rodgers, two sisters Sheila Richie and Rebecca Allen. His faithful dog Tramp awaits to welcome him home.
David Scott Rodgers will be remembered for his playful spirit, his dedication to his country, and his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial and dinner to remember Scotty will be held at a later date.
Funeral services and cremation were respectfully provided by Fredrick & Son McClure Utt Funeral Home. Online condolences and fond memories my be left at www.fredrickandson.com
