Steven Clarence Fellows, of Vincennes, IN, passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on September 22, 1948, in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Clarence and Genevieve (Piggott) Fellows. Steve was a graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1966 and furthered his education at Wabash Valley Community College.
Steve worked at the Knox County Highway Department he then worked for Amax Coal as a proud union coal miner for 19 years. After retiring as a coal miner, he later worked 10 years at the Indiana Department of Transportation. Steve was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching old westerns movies and shows. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Steve is survived by his sons, John (Annette) Fellows of Bloomington, IL and Brian (Stefanie Hendrix) Fellows of Vincennes, IN, six sisters, Jackie Eck of Vincennes, IN, Sherrlyn (Damon) Walters of Irvine, KY, Vicky Mays of Beattyville, KY, Connie (Von) Campbell of Beattyville, KY, Diana (Jim) Riddle of Greenback, TN and Patricia (William) Couch of Berea, KY, one brother, David (Rosemary) Treadway of Irvine, KY, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Genevieve (Piggott) Fellows, a brother, Lemon Caldwell, a sister, Susan Thompson and his daughter, Michelle Fellows.
Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday, August 10 with a funeral mass immediately following at 12:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2004 N. 2nd Street, Vincennes, IN, with Father Tony Ernst presiding. Following the mass, a burial ceremony with military honors will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Steve will be laid to rest next to his daughter, Michelle.
