The usual last festival before school starts– the Knox County Watermelon Festival– starts this afternoon and evening at Patrick Henry Square. Activities begin this evening at five p-m.
The festival is presented by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. Chamber director Jamie Neal reminds everyone antique tractors will be one of tonight’s attractions. Entertainment will also take to the stage as part of tonight’s festivities.
Neal says tomorrow starts bright and early with the Baby and Toddler Watermelon Festival. Registrations are still available at (Website), and through the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. Among the other highlight s are watermelon-related contests, and free watermelon slices both today and tomorrow.
