Jonathan Yocum, a loving husband, father, and Marine, passed away on July 14, 2024, in Vincennes, IN. Born on October 14, 1983, in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, Jonathan lived a life marked by kindness, friendship, and an unwavering love for his family.
Jonathan’s heart was fullest when he was with his beloved wife, Tiffany Thomason-Yocum, whom he married on August 16, 2014. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished moments. Their family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind his children, Xander Yocum and Josiah Thomason, who will carry his legacy into the future.
He is survived by his devoted mother Anne “Trischler” Youngblood, and his siblings; Jenny Douty (Nathan), Christopher Yocum (Ruvylene), and Ryan Yocum. His father, Rodney Yocum, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, preceded him in death.
Jonathan honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps before transitioning into family life. Though he was a man of great service, so it wasn’t long before he joined the Indiana National Guard. He was a man of many passions, most notably his love for working with his hands. His woodworking projects were not only a testament to his skill but also bore the hallmark of his generous spirit. Moreover, he found relaxation and joy in video games and was a dedicated fan of the iconic series, “Doctor Who” as well as an avid fan of Monty Python.
Those who knew Jonathan will remember him as a loving, kind, and friendly individual whose presence enriched the lives of those around him. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all the lives he touched with his warm and generous spirit
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 4:00pm to 7:30pm at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel with service following immediately after at 7:30 pm officiated by Father Tony Ernst. Followed immediately by full military rights.
