Christine Alberta Hardiman Talbott passed away on June 12, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1926, to John Raleigh Hardiman and Florence Lyles Hardiman in Lyles Station, Indiana. She was wed to Stephen Franklin Talbott on May 9, 1946, and moved to Vincennes, Indiana. Their union was blessed with four children, Pamela, Miles, Brenda and Robin.
Alberta attended grade school at Lyles Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Princeton, Indiana. She was employed as a housekeeper before joining Vincennes University as an employee in the Bulk Mail Room. Alberta retired from Vincennes University as the Bulk Mail Room supervisor after many years of employment.
Alberta confessed Christ at an early age and was an active member of Second Baptist Church, Vincennes, Indiana. She loved her church and served in various roles until her health prevented her from being able to attend. She was active in her community where she was a member of the Phyllis Wheatley Book Club and was also a Cub Scout leader.
Alberta was an excellent cook. Everyone loved her homemade rolls, cakes, pies, and fried chicken. She also enjoyed making character birthday cakes. Alberta had the best-looking plants in town. They were her pride and joy. In her later years, she enjoyed word puzzles and spending time with family. Family and family time were very important to her.
Preceding Alberta in death were her husband, Stephen Franklin Talbott; daughter, Brenda Diane Talbott; son, Miles Stephen Talbott; and grandson, Brian Roberts. Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Pamela Talbott Creed (Danny); son, Robin Dana Talbott (Kristen); Grandchildren – Alexandra Creed, Joshua Creed, Christina Creed; Great grandchildren – Carson Clark, Carlos Clark, Jaden Hendershot, Breanna Nkosi, Elisha Roberts, Brittlee Roberts, and Brian Lee Roberts, Jr.; five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Alberta’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of Noon at Second Baptist Church, 1208 Seminary St., Vincennes, IN 47591 on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Pastor’s Kenny and William Morris will officiate and Alberta will be laid to rest next to her husband in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Talbott family has requested memorial contributions be made in Alberta’s name to Second Baptist Church.
