Mary Elizabeth Pickett,79, passed away on June 4, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee. Mary was born on September 20, 1944 in Vincennes, Indiana, to Samuel David Allen and Avis Elizabeth Allen.
Mary graduated from Vincennes University and started her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and went on to work for many years in Vincennes at several nursing homes and KCARC.
Mary married Michael Joseph Pickett on October 6, 1961 in Vincennes. The couple had 4 children, Michella Ann Secrest (Jerry) of Dugger, IN, Rebecca Jean Joyner (Fred) of Jackson, TN, Mark Anthony Pickett, and Tamala Renette Bogard (Olin) of Carlisle, IN.
Mary was best known for fishing, gardening, camping, her faith, community service at the Blue Jean Center in Monroe City, and caring for nursing home patients and residents of KCARC.
Mary is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great children, siblings, nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Mark Anthony Pickett.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 11:00 am until the service time of 2:00. Pastor Mike Flynn will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hamline Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mary.
