Jerome “Jerry” Doyle, 84 of Vincennes passed away Friday May 10, 2024 at 11:25 AM at Gentlecare Nursing Center. Jerry was born May 7, 1940 in Vincennes, IN the son of William and Ethel Carrico Doyle. He was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his service to his country, Jerry began his career with the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 35 years. On August 24, 1963 he married Judith “Judy” Becher and they made their life together for 61 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy Doyle, their son, Thomas Doyle and his wife Jennifer of Evansville, IN, and a granddaughter, Lily Burke. He is also survived by a son in law, Graham Horne of Vincennes, IN,
Jerry was preceded in death by a daughter, Joellen Horne, his parents, William and Ethel Doyle, his brothers, Jack Doyle, Patrick Doyle, and Donald “Duck” Doyle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at1:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his daughter Joellen in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the All Weather Firing Squad. The Family will receive friends from 11: 00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Tunnel of Towers. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Doyle family during their time of loss.
