Meagan E Bates, 35, of Owensville, Indiana, passed away at 6:57 am on August 28, 2020 with her family by her side.
She was born September 13, 1984 in Vincennes to Cheryl (Cox) Carter and John M Konen.
Meagan graduated in 2008 magna cum laude from University of Southern Indiana with her bachelor’s degree in the dental hygiene program.
She enjoyed concerts, fitness, essential oils, traveling, mushroom hunting, kicking butt and taking names in euchre, hanging around a fire with family, spending wild weekends with friends, and most of all being a mom to Everett, the greatest love of her life. She didn’t take a moment of life for granted.
She is survived by her son Everett Bates, who meant the world to her, her father John M Konen of Cayuga, Indiana; her mother Cheryl Carter (Randy David) of Oakland City, Indiana; siblings Tara (Chris) Roe of Evansville, Indiana; and John (Brittany) Konen of Martinsville, Indiana; stepmom Jamie Konen of Cayuga, Indiana; step siblings Kylee Kimbrough of Bloomington, Indiana; Travis (Brittany Clore) Parke of Cayuga Indiana; Kailyn (Cody) Huff of Clinton, Indiana; Dalton Weaver of Cayuga, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 11:00 am EDT Thursday, September 3, 2020 with Pastor Luke Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Meagan Bates.
