Thomas Gordon Frederick, 93, of Vincennes, passed away at 4:05 am Saturday, July 18th, 2020 at Gentle Care of Vincennes.
He was born December 5, 1926 in Knox County, Indiana to Benny and Nellie (Berry) Frederick.
Tom retired from the Carpenter and Millwright Union, which he was a member of for 65 years. After retirement, he worked security in Kissimmee, Florida. In his younger years he worked in Evansville, before he was drafted, building airplanes for the war, later worked at Reynolds Springs in Vincennes, and owned Tom’s Body Shop and Repair. He served his country in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a member of First Church of God and attended the Wabash Community Church. Tom belonged to the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, 40 et 8, and Lawrenceville Cooties. He also played on and coached the Eagles baseball team for many seasons and enjoyed going to Florida for the winter for over 20 years.
Surviving are his children Donna Hand and her husband Mike of Vincennes, Deborah Frederick of Vincennes, and Dan Frederick and his wife Peggy of Lawrenceville; a sister Kay Post and her husband David of Oregon; his grandchildren Chris Hand and his wife Melissa of Vincennes, Brian Hand of Vincennes, Jennifer Julian and her husband Donnie of Bruceville, Jamie Slater of Vincennes, Danielle Hoalt of Vincennes, Dana Goodwin and her husband Josh of Lawrenceville, along with 11 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marion (Foss) Frederick whom he married on October 1, 1949 and preceded him on April 5, 2016; brothers Dallas Frederick and Morris Frederick; sisters Frances Greentree, Joyce Ann Frederick, and Donna Faye Frederick, and great grandchild Kayla Hand.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Dale Biehl officiating. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Thomas Gordon Frederick.
