Marvin Joe Hacker, 82, of Vincennes, passed away at 5:25 am Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence.
He was born June 26, 1937 in Knox County to Clarence and Elenora (Oexmann) Hacker.
Marvin owned and operated H&H Drilling Incorporated drilling water wells for homes, irrigation, and backhoe services. He had previously worked for Bob Wagoner Construction and Ralph Green Construction. Marvin graduated from Decker High School in 1955 and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer, and a Sunday School teacher, and served his country in the Army
Surviving are his wife Donna (Painter) Hacker whom he married on February 12, 1961; his children, Steve Hacker and his wife Linda of Vincennes, Scott Hacker of New Jersey, Brenda Anderson and her husband Luke of Terre Haute, and Kevin Hacker and his wife Cheryl of Vincennes; his sisters and brother, Julie Agee and her husband Larry of Terre Haute, Faye Hess and her husband Tom of Vincennes, Delbert Hacker and his wife Mary of Vincennes; his brother in laws and sister in laws; David and Carolyn Qualls, Jerry and Becky Painter, and Linda Painter; his grandchildren, Allison Hacker, Trevor Anderson, Logan Hacker and his special little friends, John Henry Anderson, and Libby Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Vernelda Ellermann and Hilda Purcell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 16, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Maxwell and Rev. Nathan Rastl officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or Kindrid Hospice.
